WELCOME TO THE STRIPE SETUP GUIDE!
You’ll have credit card payments setup in no time, saving your guests valuable time and reduced stress levels by streamlining their wedding gift decision making process – whether local or international. Go you!!
To make life a little easier, please have the following items available on-hand before you get started:
- Preferred Bank Account Number (for receiving payments)
- Email inbox open in the same browser on another tab (for verification)
- Your smartphone for SMS verification
NOTE: When filling in the ‘Personal Details’ section, please use a real persons details (otherwise Stripe may decline your request).
Then, simply click on the drop down boxes below and complete the steps
STEP 1: Get Started With Stripe
- Click ‘Continue Setup’ in My Registry
- Enter Email, click continue
- Create a password, click continue
- Enter your mobile number, click ‘Send text’
- Enter the code sent via text, then click ‘Send my verification link’
- Open your email (using a new tab in the same browser) and click the link sent from Stripe
- Go back to your Stripe tab, click ‘Next’
STEP 2: Basics & Bank Details
- Business Location: New Zealand
- Type of business: Individual or Sole Trader
- Business Structure: I do not have an NZBN
- Click ‘Continue’
Verify Your Personal Details (please ensure these are your actual details)
- Legal Name: First name, last name
- Email address: Main email address
- Date of birth: Your real date of birth
- Home address: Your actual home address
- Phone number: Your actual phone number
- Click ‘Continue’
Bank Details
- Add your bank account details to receive contributions from guests
- Click ‘Continue’
- Review the statement details that your guests will see in their bank account once a contribution is made. Feel free to edit these if you so wish
- Click ‘Continue’
Climate Contribution
- If you would like some of your contributions to go toward carbon removal you can choose an option, or simply click ‘No thanks’ at the bottom of the page.
Review & Finish Up
- Review the details, and once satisfied click ‘Agree & Submit’
Once you’ve completed the 2 Steps above, a few things to remember when it comes to Stripe payments:
- Your first payment may take a little longer (7 – 10 days) while Stripe are authenticating your account
- All other payments will transfer over 4 working days (payments made on Monday will arrive Friday)
- This is subject to standard bank timings, so keep in mind holidays etc
